At
The Hawth,
Crawley & Horsham Home-Start is thrilled to have been chosen as
one of three charities to benefit from the annual
Pantomime
Society’s production supported by BA. This is a great honour and a measure of
how much our work is appreciated by the local community. The pantomime is a
well-established local event and is very popular. It is a wonderful opportunity
for us not only to publicise Home-Start but to make a considerable difference
to our funds!

BT DONATION
Our
speaker for the AGM was Paul Dollner (Horsham Community
Voluntary Services) . In an interesting talk he mentioned, among other issues,
the way in which the voluntary sector could work with businesses.
It
was therefore very appropriate later in the meeting for Mr.Beckett
of British Telecom to present a cheque for £750 to our scheme. From our point
of view this was a splendid example –and our chairman expressed deep
appreciation. We are very grateful.

GLORIOUS
GODSTONE!
For our
Home-Start summer outing this year we visited Godstone
Farm in
Forty-five adults and sixty-two
children came along in two large coaches, one of which provided excitement when
a sky-light shattered! However we all reached home safely. As usual the
children provided us with much amusement. One parent was heard to say “What
part of ‘No!’ do you not understand?” Her very small child took his time,
thought carefully and replied “The ‘No!’ bit, mum”. You can’t beat being honest! The next events
we will be holding will be the Christmas Parties.
