We were established in 1998 to
provide a much needed support service for young families in the Horsham
District and the Borough of Crawley. In 2009 we extended our service into Mid
Sussex.
We offer support, friendship and practical help to families with children under
five who are under stress in order to help prevent crisis and breakdown - to
give children the best possible start in life.
Our service is confidential, independent and free.
Many of our families receive a weekly home visit provided by one of our trained
volunteers. The volunteers, who are parents themselves, offer 2-3 hours each
week in order to support one or more families. They help their family to cope
with the everyday stresses of life. So they may help mum to get out with the
children; chase up and complete forms; go with the parents to visit their
child’s school; look after the children while mum completes household chores or
gets some rest. For more details see our volunteering
page.
Some of our families also attend one of our family groups which meet weekly
around the area and many also benefit from our summer picnics and outing. We
are also able to provide free access to Springboard (a play resource in Horsham
for children with special needs) and information on a wide range of family
issues.
